Merthyr Rugby Football Club. Commercial Officer

Merthyr RFC is seeking an ambitious and self motivated Commercial Officer to represent the Club across the wider business community and drive revenue growth through sponsorship, hospitality and corporate engagement.

About the role

The Commercial Officer will lead on developing and managing commercial partnerships, promoting the Club’s brand, and generating income through a range of opportunities, including:

o Pitch-side and programme advertising

o Matchday sponsorship and hospitality packages

o Corporate membership schemes

o Player sponsorship

o Hire of clubhouse and pitch facilities for corporate events

The role requires the ability to create and deliver engaging commercial content, build strong relationships, and confidently represent the Club at business and matchday events.

What we’re looking for

o Proven experience in corporate sales, business development or commercial partnerships

o A self starter with the drive to identify, pursue and secure new opportunities

o Strong communication and presentation skills

o Ability to collaborate with Club leadership and support matchday hospitality hosting

o Good administrative and organisational capability

o Creative approach to generating promotional content and commercial proposals

Remuneration

This is primarily a commission based role, with a small retainer considered for the right candidate.
