Head Coach. Team Athletic (Merthyr RFC Seconds)

Merthyr RFC is seeking applications in order to appoint a Head Coach for our Team Athletic
(Second XV) for the 2023/24 season and beyond. Merthyr RFC is a very successful Indigo
Premiership Rugby & Community Club that proudly represents our home town and
surrounding communities. In addition to our two Senior sides, we have a vibrant age-group
set up, with thirteen teams from Under 7s to Under 18s. Eager to develop local talent and
create a future sustainable environment, we strongly believe having a competitive Second XV
is vital in supporting transition to Senior Rugby, reinforcing our Senior Squads with locally
developed talent. Consequently, the role of will involve collaboration with both our Youth and
Senior Coaching Teams.

We are seeking applications from a suitably qualified and experienced coach (Level 1
minimum, preferably Level 2), although would also welcome interest from motivated and
passionate candidates, willing to work to obtain necessary coaching accreditation. The Club
will support the professional development of the successful candidate.

The position is part-time, with training sessions during the season on Tuesday and Thursday
evenings, with league matches traditionally played on a Saturday afternoon. Remuneration is
available, details of which will be discussed as part of the interview stage.
