Ryan Evans Joins as Backs Coach

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Ryan Evans as our Backs Coach for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

At 32, Ryan represents a new wave of coaching talent, combining a wealth of on field experience with a proven track record in player development and tactical leadership.

​Ryan’s playing career across the Welsh pyramid has provided him with a deep understanding of the game’s nuances. Having featured for Swansea, Llandovery, and Neath, he knows what it takes to compete at the highest levels of semi-professional rugby.

​Notably, Ryan captained Neath RFC for two seasons, demonstrating the communication skills and rugby brain necessary to lead from the backline.

​Ryan isn’t just coming in with playing experience; he is a career educator and strategist. Ryan is currently Head of Rugby and P.E. Teacher at Ysgol Ystalyfera, his most recent rugby coaching role with friends at Neath RFC, where he has spent the last two seasons.

Ryan’s dual-background as a school leader and a former Premiership captain makes him a perfect fit.
